Download a Book
Dorothy Alling Library offers two options to download books from our website. Overdrive, a product of the Green Mountain Library Consortium (GMLC) and OneClickDigital from the Vermont Department of Libraries (VTLib).Together there are over 10,000 titles available with more added on a regular basis. You will need your Dorothy Alling Library card number to download a book.
HomeCard patrons from other libraries can only download items via their home library. Not all libraries participate in both programs. For assistance, please call your home library.

If you need additional assistance please visit the help section on each audiobook website - link on chart below under "Help". Additionally each site has videos that walk you through using their product. We strongly suggest you review the video and/or help section before starting a download. It only takes a few minutes and can save you a lot of time and frustration!

|Availability||Some titles always available. Hold lists used.||Some titles always available. Hold lists used.||When a title on OverDrive becomes available it will send an email to the account specified when the hold was placed. The title must be checked out within 3 days of receiving the email.|
|Check out period||7 or 14 days. No renewal allowed, but can be checked back out if no one is waiting. Some items can be returned early.||Up to 21 days, some renewals allowed.|
