Books
Our collection includes: adult fiction, non-fiction, reference, large print, and a parenting collection. Also available are picture books, easy readers, media kits, juvenile fiction, and non-fiction. Search our collection from the "Things to do" menu item on the left.

Materials for people with visual disabilities may be requested through a librarian or personally from the Special Services Unit of the Vermont Department of Libraries.adultroom

Newspapers
The Williston Observer in original format July 2003-present. Williston Whistle (January 1994-December 2002 on microfilm, 1985-June 2003 in original format and microfilm). The Burlington Free Press (most recent three months, plus an online edition with index and 1990-2000 on microfilm). The Champlain Business Journal (1996-present). The Wall Street Journal (most recent three months). And weekday editions of The Boston Globe (most recent three months).

Magazines
We have more than 80 subscriptions and gift magazines that circulate. Back issues are kept for 3-5 years for some of the titles. Vermont Online (VOL) provides access to many journal/magazine articles electronically. A journal title search will show full-text availability. We also subscribe to Value Line (investment research).


Audiobooks on cassette, CD and downloadable
We have an extensive collection of audiobook titles, some are abridged although we try to provide the unabridged version whenever possible. We offer adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction plus parenting and language lessons for your use. We are also a member of Listen Up! Vermont which gives patrons the ability to download audiobooks.

DVD's
We have a growing collection of adult and juvenile DVD's, including some PBS series, Vermont history and classic movies on DVD's.

Music CD's
A variety of musical CD's are available in the living room area in the children's section.

Vermont and Williston Books
The Vermont Historical Room is the home of the Williston Historical Society and houses more than 1,100 books as well as displays of historical interest. Much of this material must be used in this room. The new town history of Williston by Willard Sterne Randall and Nancy Nahra, published by the Williston Historical Society and entitled Thomas Chittenden's Town: A Story of Williston Vermont is available for sale at the circulation desk.

The History of Williston Central School, 1950-2000 by Richard H. Allen is also available for sale.

We are located just off Williston Road (Route 2) in the Village of Williston in front of Williston Central School. (map and directions) Turn from Williston Road onto Library Lane. The Library has handicapped parking spaces and is a wheelchair accessible building. There is additional parking behind the Old Brick Church.
